Providing the same highly customized and exclusive experience as always, our virtual design service creates the perfect opportunity to tackle the smaller projects in your home, with support from a designer that you can count on, based on decades of positive reviews. You may be wondering, what does this look like at SMC? We'll break it down for you.
SMC Design Online is not your cookie cutter e-design experience.
We have always prided ourselves on creating spaces that are highly customized, with finishes and custom furniture that are unique to you and your home. While we may be moving our consultations into the virtual realm, you will not be compromising quality of work in the name of health and safety.
What makes our online design package stand out from others is our one on one approach to design. The relationships we build and the care we put into each project are akin to what you would expect from a face to face design experience. The unique and customized nature of our process means that the projects we tackle are extremely high value in terms of the time and stress they will save you, and the quality of the final product.
What makes this different from your face to face option?
The virtual design process will still feel very similar to what you're used to, but with a few key differences. Here's what you can expect to be a little different.
- After receiving your proposal and paying your deposit, we will send you an in-depth questionnaire to get down to details on your new project. The questionnaire invites you to share information about the dimensions of your room, location of features like electrical outlets, windows and doors, and leaves plenty of room for you to share your design inspiration.
- All consultations on the project will now take place virtually. Whether this be over Zoom, email or plain old phone call, we will run our consultations online, allowing your family and our team to stay fully and comfortable within COVID-19 health guidelines.
- Samples will be delivered to your door for you to review. Everyone likes to be able to touch and feel the things that will be going into their home. Is this cabinet style right for me? Is the new upholstery fabric soft enough? Only one way to find out! Where before we may have paid you a visit with our samples face to face, we will now have a comprehensive collection of samples delivered. Each sample will be labelled for clarity, and come with a breakdown of where in the home it will go.
These are strange and uncertain times for everyone, and our hope is that offering this socially-distant option will create a more comfortable choice for anyone looking to make changes to their environment. After all, anyone spending this much time at home deserves to be in love with their space! This service is highly adaptable for a range of project sizes.
